The Boondock Saints:
"Irish brothers Connor & Murphy McManus live and work in Boston. Feeling that God's will to rid Earth from all human Evil was given to them as a mission, they set out to do their divine deed. A public outcry is never heard, and even FBI agent Paul Smecker, who follows their trace of bloodshed, admits that the boys are doing exactly what he secretly always has wished to happen. Risking their lives for their beliefs of Veritas (truth) and Aequitas (justice), the Boondock Saints are hyped by the public, for they are doing good, which only few dare to admit. Written by Julian Reischl {julianreischl@mac.com}"
Directed by the infamous Troy Duffy and starring William Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus, the Boondock Saints (1999,110min) has become a cult classic that has just as much hype surrounding the making of the movie as much as the movie itself!
After coming off of the very successful Groundhogs Day/Zombieland nite back in February, We are proud to bring you be able to bring you another edition of our FREE double feature movie nights put on in conjuntion with WTII Records and Redlight Productions. It is NOT on a sunday nite as usual, but on a wednesday! But rest assured you expect the same amount of fun, surprises and beer drinking that are normally associated with the "Sunday Showcases".
To start the night off, we will be showing the only proper St Patricks Day movie that could start the night off right; "Leprechaun" (1993, 92min) starring Warwick Davis and a very young Jennifer Aniston (pre-nose job!) and directed by Mark Jones (editor for the "A-Team" tv show amongst other goodies).
"The movie that started it all. Warwick Davis from Willow plays a mean Leprechaun that doesn't like to play by the rules, and will kill anyone who goes near his gold. A somewhat delusional man named Dan O'Grady brings home the gold from Ireland after he caught the leprechaun, only Leprechaun had followed him and wreaks havoc until Dan locks him in a crate and attempts to burn him, but has a stroke. 10 years later, two people buy the O'Grady's old house, (they are J.D. and his spoiled daughter Tory), not knowing what is locked in a crate in the basement. Also there are three painters: Nathan, his brother Alex, and Alex's dim friend Ozzie. That afternoon Ozzie and Alex find the Leprechaun's gold, and Ozzie accidentally releases Leprechaun from his crate and he goes on a killing spree and terrorizes the four friends, trying to get his missing gold coin back. Finally they learn the only way to destroy it is to go find Dan O'Grady, thinking he may know a way. They find him at a rest home, he tells them a four leaf clover is the only way. So now Tory and her friends must find a four leaf clover in a big clover patch before Leprechaun finds them! Written by Dylan Self {robocoptng986127@aol.com}"
We will be serving free pizza and also Corned beef and Cabbage(while it lasts!) during Leprechaun, and following the conclusion of The Boondock Saints, in keeping with the spirit of the movie will be a dj set from Dave (WTII) who will be spinning a variety songs to help you continue to celebrate St Patricks day and all of its surrounding chaos!
It's a free night with two of your favorite movies so get there early, grab a great seat at the bar and enjoy some free food and green beer with some of your closest Irish (and non-irish) friends
